3D World maps: ready-made, create and import
City, arena, track, castle, moon… and how to import .vox, heightmaps, .schem, 3D models and .json maps — with tips on where to create them.
1. Ready-made maps (not only "block world")
In the 3D world editor, open Generate terrain and pick from Ready-made maps: city (streets and buildings), battle arena, maze (dungeon), obby (platforms in the air over lava), walled castle, soccer field, race track and moon with craters (black sky). On a stage with no world, the same maps show up as buttons.
You can also generate them with the block:
• evt_bandeira • m3d_gerar [TIPO: cidade, SEMENTE: 7, TAM: 64] • m3d_camera [MODO: terceira] • m3d_controles [MODO: sim]
After generating, edit freely: the map becomes normal blocks.
2. Make your own map from scratch (right here)
- Box and Walls (click two corners) make floors, buildings and rooms; Layer fills a whole floor; Sphere makes hills and craters.
- Y layer shows only up to a height: great for drawing the inside of a house.
- In the Pieces tab, draw blocks with your own art (16 × 16) — e.g. asphalt, soccer grass or a spaceship wall.
- Start point marks where the player spawns.
3. Import maps from other programs
In Import or export map, choose the file:
- .vox (MagicaVoxel, Goxel, VoxEdit): each voxel becomes a block. In Colors, "closest blocks" uses the ready blocks; "exact colors" creates pieces with the file's colors (up to 60 pieces).
- Heightmap image (.png/.jpg): light = high, dark = low. Makes hills, water at the bottom and snow on top. Get real places' terrain in Heightmapper.
- Minecraft structure (.schem from WorldEdit/Sponge or .schematic from MCEdit): block names become similar blocks (wood, stone, wool…).
- 3D model (.glb, .gltf, .obj, .stl, .ply, .fbx, .3mf, .dae): the model surface becomes blocks ("voxelize"), with colors and textures.
- BlocosIA map (.json): use Export (.json) to take a world from one project to another.
The world is at most 160 × 96 × 160 blocks; anything bigger is left out. Everything runs in your browser (nothing is sent to servers).
3b. Curvy world (no cubes)
Tick Sky and environment → Curvy world in the editor (or use the world look: curvy block). The world is still made of blocks — you can break, place and use the same physics — but it is drawn as a smooth surface: gentle hills, rounded trees and organic caves. How it works: each block becomes a "density" smoothed with its neighbors and the program draws the surface where the density crosses 0.5 (Surface Nets algorithm). See the Curvy Craft example. Open
• evt_bandeira • m3d_estilo [ESTILO: curvo]
4. Where to create and edit maps (free)
- MagicaVoxel ephtracy.github.io and Goxel goxel.xyz: voxel editors that export .vox.
- Heightmapper tangrams.github.io/heightmapper: terrain of any place on the world map as an image.
- Blockbench blockbench.net and Blender blender.org: 3D models (export .glb or .obj).
- Minecraft: save builds with WorldEdit (
//schem save) or Amulet and import the .schem. - When downloading ready maps from the internet, check the license and credit the author.
