Move in 8 directions

Easy · Smooth movement with the arrows, like top-down games.

Interactive tutorial: the editor checks each step by itself.

  1. Add the "8-Direction Movement" extension.
  2. Choose a sprite and drag "when green flag clicked" with "use 8-direction movement: yes" below.
  3. Click the flag, click the stage and use the arrows. No "forever" needed!
  4. Snap "max speed 200 acceleration 600 deceleration 500" and change the numbers to feel the difference.
  5. Snap "turn the sprite to where it moves" and choose "every 90°".
  6. Challenge: create a sprite, turn on "be a barrier" (Motion) and see your sprite can't pass through. (challenge)
